Peace Around The World Wreath

Peace WreathAn easy "hands-on" craft that is also a nice little talking point about how all different kinds of people can live together as a community and help each other. You can also expand this project into an experiment with mixing primary colors.

Materials:

  • Paint. Various colors.
  • White paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Instructions:

  1. Let kids mix their own colors.  Example: What color do you get when you mix yellow and blue?
  2. Let child dip her hands in paint and stamp 10 handprints onto paper.
  3. Let the prints dry or use a hairdryer to speed things up.
  4. Cut out the hand prints.
  5. Glue them in a circle (with fingers pointing outward) to form a wreath.
  6. Trace one clean hand in the center of a sheet of white paper.  This is your peace dove.  Color or paint on a little orange beak.
  7. Blue the hand wreath onto the dove paper, framing the peace dove.
